Reading
This week in reading we read
a story about Frog and Toad. Frog and Toad learned how important it is to have friends. We worked on the long e sound and
adding -ed to the end of words. The class wrote exclamation and command sentences, and reviewed statements and questions.

Math
Adding and subtraction are the
hot topics in math this week. We used dominoes and fact triangles to help us work on fact families. We also wrote addition
number stories and will be exploring subtraction number stories soon. Working on basic addition and subtraction facts at home
with flash cards is a great way to build confidence in this area.

Religion
The excitement of First
Reconciliation is in the air among the second grade. We learned about God's love for us and how he shows us he loves us
with the seven sacraments. This week we are focusing on Baptism and the symbols associated with Baptism.
